There is a possibility that every person has a different point of view against different things. Some communities think that Australia Day is the symbol of the British settlement on their people as British people are famously known for the colonization of different regions in the world. But these communities are in very fewer numbers. An aboriginal Day of Mourning was held to stop this day on the beginning in 1938.
In 1988, a large group of Aboriginal people called it invasion Day and their view was they had loss of indigenous culture. Invasion protests occur every year almost. They try to emphasize the different attitudes towards Australia Day. This time it is estimated that the number of people in invasion Day will be in thousands. On the contrary, some indigenous Australians also celebrate the Australia Day.
To remove the allegation of indigenous people, the official celebration has tried to include indigenous people and held special ceremonies to remember the past and honors the past. Both parties are trying their best to emphasize their narrative.
